Hi, I'm Margarita!

As a registered psychotherapist, I know that when we aren’t feeling our best, we tend to view ourselves as irreparable, broken, and end up directing a great deal of shame towards ourselves. I also know that pain is part of the human experience and is often trying to tell us something. When we can be curious with our pain rather than fearful, we are more able to take action to solve problems. It gives us the ability to then access unused strengths, build new skills, reconnect to community or loved ones, be self-compassionate, set boundaries, communicate our needs to others, or explore the idea of medication. Sometimes, what our pain needs is simply a supportive space to be felt. Sitting with someone in your pain who can help you facilitate self-compassion and curiosity and identify what you may need can make a big difference.

I recognize that each person that comes through my door will require something unique from me as their support and the interventions we apply. This is something I focus on throughout my sessions with you. Who are you? What are you telling me that you need? Have you felt unheard before? What combination of resources do I need to bring to the table that work for you?

This means that our sessions can be very informal with time spent developing meaning, understanding, or skills through conversation.

However, if you learn best when therapy resembles more of a traditional learning environment, we can do that too. We use visual tools, resources, and spend time practicing new skills together. If you aren’t sure what you need, we will simply collaborate together to figure this out. Regardless of what therapy looks like for you in the end, I remain compassionate, sincere, and down-to-earth.

Finding the right therapist is costly. If you have any questions, give me a call. I offer free 15-minute consultations. We can explore if this is right for you. My goal is to remain self-aware regarding my competence as a therapist and be transparent with clients if I feel I am not the therapist for you.
