Hi, I'm Joelle!

I understand first-hand that being open and vulnerable with a stranger can feel daunting. My goal is to provide a safe, inclusive space where you feel comfortable sharing your thoughts, experiences, and the challenges you are faced with. I support children, youth, and adults with concerns such as anxiety, depression, substance use, suicidality, self-harm, and emotional regulation.
Whether you find yourself struggling with your mental health, faced with life transitions, are seeking strategies to regulate distressing emotions, striving for growth and development, or are looking to improve interpersonal relationships and communication, I am here to support you.
My desire to work in clinical therapy is rooted in my personal journey with depression, anxiety, and OCD. As a therapist with both professional training and lived experience, I understand that healing is not “one-size-fits-all”, and I will work alongside you to build an environment that feels validating, empowering, and tailored to your needs. My practice is rooted in an evidence-based, client-centered, and trauma-informed approach, and draws from CBT, DBT, and Emotion Focused Individual Therapy..

With a background in Neuroscience and Anthropology, I value both the neurological and social aspects of mental health and wellness, and strive to weave this understanding into my therapeutic work. I hold a HBSW from Lakehead University, and am currently completing my Master of Social Work, where my research focuses on substance use and substance use disorder. I am committed to ongoing learning and look forward to integrating new knowledge into the support I provide.

I am looking forward to working with you to identify your unique goals and needs, and am hoping that, together, we can bring about the change that you are looking for in your life. To explore whether my therapeutic approach might be a good fit for you, I am glad to offer a free 15-minute consultation for us to get acquainted.
I am a white, queer, francophone ciswoman of settler origin, and am forever grateful to live and practice on the traditional lands and lakes of Fort William First Nation, signatory to the Robinson-Superior treaty of 1850.
