Virtual Appointments

We recognize that there may be barriers to accessing mental health services. To help alleviate these barriers we also offer virtual appointms.

The flexibility of virtual appointments may appeal to you if you have a busy schedule, struggle with finding child care, or simply prefer to meet in the comfort of your own home.

Virtual therapy also affords you the ability to have a larger selection of therapists to choose from. This helps ensure you find the right therapist for you.

We recommend you read the following information to help you decide if virtual therapy might work for you. Your therapist will also help you determine whether virtual appointments are a good fit for you.

Potential Benefits of Virtual Appointments:

  • No Commuting required

  • Larger selection of therapists to choose from (i.e. ability to see any therapist licensed in your province)

  • Convenience

  • Greater privacy

  • Improved Accessibility

  • Increased personal comfort

Potential Detriments of Virtual Appointments:

  • Privacy concerns (if you share your home)

  • Difficulty connecting to the therapeutic setting and therapist (e.g., challenges with non-verbal due to reduced visibility of body language at times)

  • Technological Issues

  • Not well-suited for crisis situations
